Is your hair “STRESSED OUT” ???

Fine Hair Women's hair loss Vista

It has been found that cortisone, hormones released during stress, can actually be measured in our hair.  Even though hair consists of dead cells, the hair follicle is actually a living organism, receiving oxygen and nutrients from our bloodstream.  This results in substances like cortisol get into the follicle from blood vessels in the scalp and while the hair grows, the cortisol moves up the strand.  Hair grows on average one centimeter per month, therefore a six centimeter-long hair strand can show cortisol levels over six months.  It now gives a biological marker for chronic stress for the first time.  How much cortisol do you think would be found in your hair and how much does stress relate to your hair loss ?  While your pondering that question, go take a walk and relax a little.  Reply below and let us know how you relieve your stress!
